The Digital Technology department

In the age of digitalization of information and processes, companies need to initiate and pursue their digital transformation. We offer digital solutions in service of the Industry of the Future.

Assisting our partners

In the digital transition

Icam, site de Strasbourg-Europe’s Digital Technology department aims to provide its partner companies with the technological tools and skills needed to allow them to complete their digitalisation and transition processes to ensure they are in line with the Company of the Future.

The various digital projects are conducted in agile mode using tools and methods that are tailored to our partners’ needs.

Our expertise is based on several areas such as data, cybersecurity and IoT.

We assist our partners in their use of big data for the purpose of capturing and analysing data to create value for customers and business users.

The security and protection of these data, information systems and production tools in connected factories are also essential within the scope of a digital transition strategy.

Finally, our team of experts is working on the Internet of Things to integrate sensors into data analysis to make their measurements available to users.

Equipment

The two Security 4.0 wiring closets are fully functional scale models of an industrial enterprise network, according to the recommendations of the French National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI). They are used to test the 5 levels of security:

  1. 1. No Internet connection
  2. 2. Production network hidden behind the office network
  3. 3. Production network hidden behind the office network, with wireless networks
  4. 4. Remote interconnection between production networks via private links
  5. 5. Production network directly on the Internet

Each wiring closet is equipped with a demilitarised zone (DMZ) which hosts a server, for e-mail or technical supervision for example. Wiring closet 1 is also equipped with a network diode, which ensures that information can leave the network to check the quality of production, but never re-enter it, to make contamination by a virus impossible. The default configuration of the Security 4.0 wiring closet is level 3, which is also the configuration of the ICAM-FACTORY network at the Icam, site de Strasbourg-Europe school factory.

The SmartFlow software is an internal ICube laboratory project supported by Icam, site de Strasbourg-Europe as part of the laboratory’s transverse Industry of the Future and Smart Factory (IFUI) axis. Its objective is to create a ready-to-use data processing chain for industrial applications. The aim being to connect the sensors and the datacenter where the data analysis takes place at infrastructure level. The data lifecycle: “capture > analysis > visualisation” is supported.

The Data Lab offers a data storage and structuring space called DataLake Industrial Data for Extended Analysis (IDEA) as well as the tools needed to analyse them (Talend, Tableau, etc.).

The IoT Lab: a collection of prototypes, demonstrators, sensors and industrial communicators (LORA).

I support my colleagues through student projects, consultancy services, training and innovation projects. This allows me to stay as close as possible to the concerns of industrialists.
