Dual competence in digital and industrial engineering

You will manage projects to develop digital information processing tools using connected solutions in an industrial context. You will master the transmission, storage and security of mass data. You will support the company in its deployment of a continuous improvement culture by optimising industrial resources to make production systems agile.

Developed in partnership with the Centre des Apprentis d’Alsace (CFA-CAA), accredited by the Commission des Titres d’Ingénieur (CTI), awarded a Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE) quality rating, and recognised by the State as being a Private Higher Education Institution of General Interest (EESPIG), this course produces engineers specialising in the field of industrial digital transition.




Apprenticeship training

This 3-year programme is punctuated by courses in engineering science, industrial and digital engineering, and management science. They are implemented during the professional training period in the corporate world. The engineering students define and implement their professional projects thanks to personalised guidance.


The “Learning by Doing” approach is based on experimentation and collaboration, which is reflected in the in-company training, the teaching dispensed by Icam, site de Strasbourg-Europe, a 12-week period of international immersion, practical work and team projects.


1st year of the specialised engineering course – Level: 3 years post-bac studies

The first year is dedicated to reinforcing the student’s knowledge of fundamental sciences (mathematics and physics), introducing digital and industrial engineering, learning about the workings of a company, and bringing the student up to speed in English. As for in-company training, the first year is dedicated to discovering how the organisation works.

The corporate world

The first year provides an opportunity for the apprentice engineer to discover the business world.

The sequence is 2 weeks in the classroom and 2 weeks in the company.



The first year projects allow students to discover the business world and take part in activities concerning digital and industrial issues.

2nd year of the specialised engineering course - Level 4 years post-bac studies

In the second year, the student’s knowledge and skills are further developed through digital and industrial engineering courses. Skills in electronics, management and communication complete the training. The learning of English is reinforced by a 12-week international mobility programme.

The corporate world

The second year enables student engineers to acquire training in project management, covering human, organisational, economic and technical aspects.

The sequence is 3 weeks in the company and 1 week in the classroom as well as 12 weeks of international work experience.

3rd year of the specialised engineering course - Level 5 years post-bac studies

In the third and final year, the acquisition of professional skills continues through the implementation of engineering projects. During the last phase in the company, apprentices are required to mobilise the technical and human skills acquired throughout the course, and to consolidate their position as project manager.



  • Developing digital solutions for industrial performance.
  • Being innovative in the recommendations aimed at increasing the agility of the value creation/production chain.
  • Assuming the role of manager in an ethical manner.
  • Supporting the structural and operational change of the company.
  • Being granted (TOEIC) certification in English.


The corporate world

The final year enables student engineers to manage a team and industrial resources to support their organisation in its industrial digital transition. They acquire autonomy in project management, steering by objectives, and their analysis and proposal of reasoned technical solutions.

The sequence is 3 weeks with the company and 1 week in the classroom then 100% in the company during the final semester.

From idea to reality

Practice and experimentation are at the heart of the teaching and programme. Students imagine, design, test and develop innovative products and services as part of a team. They put their knowledge into practice and acquire new skills through projects and practical work. From business and operational projects to technical projects and engineering projects, they address issues of innovation, project management and general management. These projects are enriching professional experiences that reflect the needs and requirements of the business world.

Operational project - Year 1

The first year is divided into two operational projects. The first consists in discovering and learning about the business world. The second is devoted to the implementation of technical, industrial or digital projects. The student engineer must develop his interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a group.

Application project - Year 2

The objective is to prepare the apprentice to lead digital transition projects by integrating human, organisational, economic and technical aspects.

Engineering project – Year 3

The engineering project enables students to continue acquiring professional skills by managing projects from start to finish.

Both a scientist and a manager

This course is aimed at students with 2 or 3 years’ scientific post-bac studies.

As scientists and managers, Industrial Digital Systems Engineers lead innovative digital transition projects from start to finish for companies undergoing major changes. They implement agile methods using technological tools and digital solutions, and maintain systems to guarantee secure and sustainable data management. Their global understanding of the value creation chain enables them to analyse and optimise the resources of production systems in terms of cost and reactivity, and to inscribe the organisation in a continuous improvement process. Based on strong ethics and human values, they ensure that their organisations are fully aware of the challenges of CSR and sustainable development, and support them in this technological change.
